OAI Awarded NOAA NMFS Ecosystem Science Division Support Services Task Order announcement with a photo of fish swimming near kelp and a photo of the back of a man watching a research vessel at sea.

We are pleased to announce that Ocean Associates, Inc. (OAI) has been awarded a support services task order for the NOAA NMFS Southwest Fisheries Science Center’s Ecosystem Science Division (ESD).

The ESD does vital work tracking real-time ocean conditions, managing sustainable fisheries, and protecting marine life under critical federal mandates such as the Magnuson-Stevens Act and the Antarctic Marine Living Resources Convention Act.

Through this contract, the OAI team will provide specialized scientific, technical, and data expertise across four key programs:

✳️ Glider Program Support: Utilizing cutting-edge autonomous ocean gliders to modernize how we collect high-resolution data on real-time ocean environments.

✳️ Ichthyoplankton Ecology Program Support: Studying fish eggs and larvae to better understand environmental impacts on fish populations and stock productivity.

✳️ U.S. Antarctic Marine Living Resources (AMLR) Program Support: Conducting crucial research to back U.S. interests in Southern Ocean resource management and conservation.

✳️ ESD Data Management and Analysis Support: Synthesizing complex ecosystem data and applying advanced models to ensure fisheries management is highly responsive to a changing climate.

We are honored to deepen our partnership with NOAA Fisheries, leveraging advanced technology and world-class science to build more resilient marine ecosystems.

A massive thank you to our dedicated team for securing this milestone and to the SWFSC for their continued trust in OAI!
